Simon and I have talked about doing a photoshoot together for a while, but between distance and weather we hadn’t found a good time. With the weather finally starting to clear we decided to book something in and we had a great time.
The shoot revolved around a 4ft high pair of wings I bought from eBay and my little cache of weapons. Simon wanted to do something on location and luckily the weather held out for us. The ground was wet from the previous day which resulted in me getting soggy feet but there was no rain and it was warm enough for us to get some great shots over a few hours.
We found some great spots in Boggart Hole Clough that were not too , we only had the odd passer-by to give us funny looks ans wonder what on earth we were doing.
My husband came along to help with bags and lighting and got some cool BTS shots while we set up and Simon managed to ninja snap a really great picture of him while he wasn’t looking.
The scenery worked perfectly, the trees hadn’t started to regain their leaves yet so the woods still looked mostly dead apart from patches where grass and daffodils had started to grow again. Simon wanted to get some pictures of me among the flowers and the contrast between the bright yellow of the daffodils and my darker look was amazing.
Unfortunately I didn’t get chance to play with Simon’s Zelda sword but my trusty samurai sword was on hand to fill the void so were able to get a few cool “winged warrior” poses in the mix.
The last pictures we took were of me lying in the grass and personally I think they looked lovely, I get the feeling the wings will find their way into a few more shoots in the future.
